About This Calculator
The fertile window is the span of days each menstrual cycle when pregnancy can occur. Sperm can survive in the female reproductive tract for up to five days, and the egg is viable for about 24 hours after ovulation. This calculator estimates your fertile window as the five days before ovulation plus the day of ovulation itself — six days total — based on your last menstrual period and average cycle length. It also shows the next two upcoming cycles for planning.
How It Works
Enter the first day of your last menstrual period and your average cycle length. The calculator estimates ovulation as (cycle length − 14) days after your LMP, then places the fertile window 5 days before through 1 day after ovulation. For cycles that have already passed, it advances to the current cycle and displays the next two upcoming windows.

- Does irregular cycle length affect the estimate?
- Yes, significantly. This calculator shows a warning when cycle length is outside 21–45 days. For irregular cycles, the fertile window prediction is much less reliable. People with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), thyroid conditions, or other causes of cycle irregularity should consult a specialist.
